Positive Feedback

Here’s a poem I wrote a little while ago. I came across it on an old writing thread of mine, and decided to repost it on here.

Have a wonderful afternoon. Or night, depending on where you are or what you consider 5 PM to be.

It was an epic day,
I can still remember,
Climbing through
Jagged rocks that bit
And the gnarled roots
That tried to
drag me
down.
There was blackened dirt
Under my bitten nails
From scratching furrows in
Tree bark and loose soil.

I broke through the cell of trees,
And found myself submerged,
The clouded sky above
Pressing on my lungs.
The lake beneath was clear,
Fringed lightly with green,
A painter’s masterpiece.

I felt so very tall,
Perched atop
A mountain’s head.
And I sat, content
To watch the world
Drag by.

  I feel like I should start out my blog with some sort of an introductory post in order to set the mood. After all, first-impressions are supposed to be very important. Unfortunately, I don’t really know how to write a proper, paragraphed introductory post, and I’m sort of afraid that it won’t be interesting or intelligent enough to capture people’s attention. So here’s a list of FAQs instead. I know no one has actually asked me anything yet, but I don’t know how else to summarize my blog without sounding really boring.

What will this blog be like?

Pretty cheerful, I’m hoping, though I don’t really have a particular direction yet. It might turn out funny too, though I’m not trained on being humorous on command. It’ll include writing, for the most part. I might post a few doodles or videos, if I think they’re good enough for strangers to see.

Positive Feedback? What?

  I read a lot of blogs and watch a lot of youtube channels that mainly consist of people ranting about things they don’t like or making fun of people in a very humorous fashion. While these people are really funny and entertaining, I feel like the world needs a little more positive feedback as well.

Why are you calling yourself Tacky?

Look up Tacky the Penguin. He and I have several similarities.

Why make a blog? You do realize that there are thousands and thousands of other blogs, and that yours really isn’t that significant, right?

  I’ve always wanted to make one, because I like to write and make people smile, and this seemed like a combination of the two. I don’t really want to do this to achieve fame and fortune, but it would be nice to know that I’m a part of someone’s day. (Oh hey, let’s see what Tacky wrote today…)

I bet I forgot a lot of really important information, but I’m unnaturally excited about posting this.
